INGREDIENTS

1 box of Gulab Jaman Mix
¾ cup water
1-2 teaspoons of My Mama's Ghee
1 egg (optional for pancake)
¾ cup milk (optional for pancake)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional for pancake)
½ teaspoon sugar
3 cups of water
PREPARATION

-
In a medium-sized bowl, mix gulab jamun mix and water until there is a pancake batter consistency. Add other optional ingredients.
-
In a separate bowl, mix: water, rose water, sugar, and cardamom.
-
Heat a lightly ghee’d griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately ¼ cup for each pancake. Wait until batter is golden brown, then add another cup of batter.
-
For the syrup: Add the 3 cups of water, cardamom seeds, rose water, and sugar in a deep-sided pan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiled, heat down and simmer for about 10 minutes until it thickens into a light, cordial-style syrup. Stir every now and then. Take off the heat, leave to cool, then taste and add more rose water if needed.
